OGIA was established in 1979 as The Oil & Gas Insurance Agency in Columbus, Ohio. The agency was created solely to provide insurance and bonding for the Independent Oil & Gas Industry. Originally the agency operated in Ohio and surrounding states, however, the firm currently maintains licenses in other oil producing states in the south and west. (contact us for specifics)
The agency President and Owner, Mark Freshwater, has specialized in this market since 1979. Linda Custer, Vice President, has worked continuously for the firm since 1979 and manages the day-to-day operations and policyholder services. The agency maintains affiliations with Professional Organizations and Industry Associations. Mr. Freshwater has been a presenter at energy conferences and has been published in the Ohio Oil and Gas Association Bulletin and trade magazines since the 1980's.
The Agency's mission remains to this day to provide competitive and cost effective insurance programs for the E&P segment of the Energy business: including producers (lease operators), contract operators, drillers and service contractors and all business risks represented in the industry as well as smaller utilities, processors and distribution systems.
